On 30th June, 75 teams took on our 20th anniversary Welsh3peaks Challenge! We'd like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone involved in this amazing event and especially to GE Aviation Wales and all their awesome volunteer marshals, to Just Perfect Catering for providing the amazing BBQ at Pen-Y-Fan and to Princes Gate Spring Water for keeping the teams hydrated! In Family Friday this week, we look back to last week’s presentation evening in honour of Cardiff and East Vale Girl Guides who raised well over £11,000 for us as part of their very own Snowdog Challenge badge. This week we joined Run 4 Wales and Healthspan at Cardiff Castle where Olympic sprinter and Healthspan Ambassador Iwan Thomas was helping out with a training session for the forthcoming Brecon Carreg Barry Island 10k. Iwan was giving first time runners top training tips before a group run through beautiful Bute Park. We're so proud of this incredible lot for completing such an awesome challenge! Scaling a combined height of 5,187m and covering over 36 miles in total, these dads of life limited children who already cope with so much, climbed to the top of five of the highest peaks in the UK, Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen Y Fan, all in under 55 hours!
