A massive good luck to our Tŷ Hafan dads @JustGiving #JGAwards this evening. They are finalists in the Fundraiser of the Year award for their epic #5in55 challenge which saw them scaling five of the UKs tallest mountains in under 55 hours! @5in55

Less than two weeks to go until Christmas at the Castle, where we’ll kick off the festive season in style with festive food and drink stalls, a Christmasy concert under the stars, sensational craft market and fantastic fireworks! We’re very excited to announce that the very talented welsh duo, Into The Ark, will be performing on the night! Into The Ark are Dane Lloyd & Taylor Jones from Blackwood who began their music careers busking in Cardiff, then went on to become an established band touring the UK - reaching the final of The Voice! We can’t wait have the boys with us for the event and to hear the pitch perfect harmonies and beautiful lyrics that set them apart!

Have you ever wondered what Christmas is like for our families? Tŷ Hafan is open 365 days a year and we invite some families who've had a particularly hard year to spend Christmas Day at the hospice. Sarah has spent Christmas Day here with her daughters, Molly and Emily, and she explains how import breaks like this can be to families such as hers #BeingThere365 "We were here two years ago at Christmas and it was one of the best we’ve ever had." https://zurl.co/mPmo

If you missed Alice on @BBCCiN #BBCBargainHunt, you can find it on iplayer and enjoy the rest of the fun with Pudsey and co this evening https://zurl.co/vUpS

Former Tŷ Hafan support worker, Craig Clements, has just kicked off his fundraising and awareness challenge which will see him and his colleagues run, cycle or row 7km everyday for seven weeks. #FamilyFriday this week is Craig's story. "Nothing came close to looking after and taking care of the children and young people at Tŷ Hafan. It truly was the proudest time of my career so far." https://zurl.co/iSOf

Today is @BBCCiN and we can't wait to tune in to #BBCBargainHunt at 12:15pm to see their feature on Alice and her family. Sarah Lee, our Palliative Care Play Specialist, who features in the programme, is a @BBCCiN funded post. Play is such a fundamental aspect of a child's development and serves a far greater purpose than just having fun and alleviating boredom. Everyone has a right to play and the role has been vital in delivering a range of therapeutic benefits to Tŷ Hafan children. Be sure to tune in at 12:15pm!

We’re delighted that our Transformers project has been awarded funding by the @togetherforshortlives Improving Transitions for Young People Fund. The project aims to help smooth the transition to adult services for seriously ill young people by offering social opportunities, helping to build skills, providing guidance and signposting to other services #FundForChange For more information on Transformers, visit https://goo.gl/2QBgVt

On behalf of everyone at Tŷ Hafan we would like to wish our Patron, HRH, The Prince of Wales The Royal Family a Happy 70th Birthday. Fondly remembering his visit to our hospice earlier in the year. Many happy returns.
