On Monday 10 December, we were joined by Whiteheads Building Services who, through their amazing fundraising efforts, very generously paid for Christmas Day 2018 at Tŷ Hafan.
The team gathered at the hospice in Sully to meet with Kelly Dibble, Senior Fundraising Executive, who presented them with a special handcrafted, inscribed apple that will now hang on our gift tree – a special commemorative sculpture located at the hospice that honours donors who have raised more than £10,000.
Earlier in the year, they kindly organised their annual golf day at St Mellons Golf Club in aid of Tŷ Hafan and raised an amazing £12,000. Similarly, they very generously match funded the participants of the cycle event 54321 Cymru.
For many of our families, Christmas can be a stressful time but at our hospice we take away all the stress and worries. When the children wake up on Christmas Day, they are surprised with presents and a special visit from Santa. The day continues with Christmas Dinner with the other families before they settle in for an afternoon of games, quizzes and Christmas films. It’s a family Christmas and it wouldn’t be possible without kind donations like this.
Rhys Morton, Whiteheads Managing Director, said "Tŷ Hafan was brought to our attention in the summer and as we support a chosen charity every year, we decided to support Tŷ Hafan after having come to the hospice and met everyone. We’re hoping to carry on spreading awareness and continue our involvement through the New Year."
